Can you contribute to public confidence in the Council?

We’re looking for a new Independent Member to join our Audit Committee.

This Committee reviews the effectiveness of our governance and risk management arrangements.

As an Independent member on the Committee, you will serve an important role bringing independent scrutiny to the Committee’s work.

You’ll need to have the skills and experience in one or more of the following areas: local government, governance, audit, finance risk management and internal control. You should also have a connection with the Sevenoaks District, for example living or working here. You’ll need to attend around four evening committee meetings each year.

The post is not open to anyone who is, or has within the last five years, been a Sevenoaks District Councillor or employee or has close relatives or friends at the Council.

This post pays an annual allowance of £800 plus expenses. The appointment will be for up to four-years.
