Housing Advice Officer
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Housing Advice Officer to join the Council's Housing Advice Service. You will provide a comprehensive housing advice and homeless prevention services and to support the Council to successfully deliver the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
With a proven track record of delivering homelessness prevention advice, you will deliver a high quality service to customers and partners through Personalised Housing Plans. Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills are necessary to carry out the Council's statutory duties to customers who are at risk of homelessness. You must have an excellent understanding of assessing homeless applications and issuing key decisions under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).
We are seeking a motivated and innovative person, with good attention to detail, who can work proactively with customers and partners to find creative housing solutions to prevent and relieve homelessness. You will use your influencing and negotiating skills to mediate with landlords and tenants and deliver with the best outcomes of customers.
